When I started researching my family history over forty years ago, the internet was in its infancy and the concept of blogging was yet to be conceived. Recently I have been pondering on the best method to preserve my family stories for future generations. Over the last two years I have completed the Diploma of Family History with the University of Tasmania and in the process learnt many new ways to present my research in a more appealing manner. I am hoping this site will be the perfect platform to record the stories of my family. Many of my ancestors are like old friends who I learn more about every time I visit. In particular my intrepid ancestors who left their homeland to make the journey across the seas to Australia. I have called my site ‘Lost in the Foreign’ which is how my great great granduncle, Samuel Lock, referred to his brother John after he was transported to New South Wales in 1829.
Hi Cuz, fabulous name for your Family History Blog. I am looking forward to seeing your site develop. Cheers Cuz Selma
